Please note that the rate quoted will depend on the project. Typically this is based on the number of words in the script plus any additional features. This is then converted to recording (and possibly editing) time. The appropriate charge is then calculated and any additional feature costs added.
As an indication, if it helps, 150 words will take about 3 minutes of recording time to produce one minute of finished time (if it can be done in a single pass). You can expect to spend another 3 to 4 minutes of editing time to produce a minute of finished product. So 9000 words or 1 hour of finished recording will actually take 7 hours of work to produce. Note that this is for a single pass of undirected recording. Do remember to allow for extra time if you will be providing direction during the recording session. For budget purposes, you may want to look at the GVAA Rate Guide. Do note that the prices given are in USA dollars while mind are usually in Canadian dollars (exchange rate as of 2021.03.09 $1US=$1.26 Cdn. Exchange rates will vary.)
One method you can use to reduce the cost of recording is to include delivery notes describing clearly how you want the script delivered.
NOTE: Use of a studio other than mine will involve extra charges (typically paid for directly by the client).
